Eagles 2021 Training Camp Day 1 Notes
It's finally here. Today we got our first look at the 2021 Eagles in a relatively short practice.
Now, before I start, please take everything with a grain of salt. It is Day 1, so if your favorite player didn't play well, I promise they will get better.
Let's get to it.
Right as practice begun, the Eagles placed S Andrew Adams, G Matt Leo and LB Alex Singleton on the Reserve/COVID-19 List.
The Eagles also placed T Le'Raven Clark and S Rodney McLeod on the PUP list and OL Landon Dickerson on the Active/Non-Football Injury List.
In terms of the Injury Report, Jalen Reagor was Limited(lower body tightness), Quez Watkins is day-to-day(still completing physical), Isaac Seumalo is week-to-week(hamstring), Shakial Taylor is day-to-day(lower body), Nate Meadors is week-to-week(hamstring) and Greg Ward is day-to-day(Non-COVID Illness).
Boston Scott, Kenneth Gainwell and DeVonta Smith were fielding punts today.
Andre Dillard took first team reps at Left Tackle, but rotated with Jordan Mailata.
Nate Herbig was at LG in place of Seumalo.
Darius Slay and Steven Nelson were CB1 and CB2, with Avonte Maddox taking the first team reps at slot corner.
K'Von Wallace was in place of Rodney McLeod today, alongside Anthony Harris.
Zach Ertz was in attendance and did participate. Howie Roseman said after practice that he expects him to be on the roster for the 2021 Season.
DeVonta Smith and Travis Fulgham were the first team outside wideouts, with JJ Arcega-Whiteside in the slot(Greg Ward and Jalen Reagor did not participate).
Brandon Graham and Josh Sweat were the 1st Team Defensive Ends with Ryan Kerrigan and Derek Barnett as 2nd Team.
Davion Taylor was the starting linebacker next to Eric Wilson in place of Alex Singleton.
Jalen Hurts' first throw of training camp was a TD to Miles Sanders.
DeVonta Smith made a few great two-handed catches in the back of the end zone while getting two feet down.
Eagles showed a 3-4 defense in the Red Zone.
Josiah Scott had a pick in the Red Zone in 7 on 7s, he ripped it right out of Kenneth Gainwell's hands. Bad read from Hurts.
Joe Flacco nearly was picked off by TJ Edwards on a bad read.
TE Tyree Jackson caught a pass across the middle from Nick Mullens and ran over Rashad Smith. Tyree is a former QB.
Hurts went back to DeVonta Smith after he dropped a tough grab in the end zone, Smith caught the pass the second time after Hurts rolled to his right.
Nick Mullens and Adrian Killins connected a lot.
Darius Slay and DeVonta Smith had a couple fun battles. Slay broke up a pass that was intended for Smith and then Smith beat him two plays later. DeVonta said afterward that he enjoyed the battles.
Brandon Graham blew up a play that Hurts was forced to throw away.
According to Fletcher Cox, Milton Williams was playing DE today.
