Eagles 2021 Training Camp Day 4 Notes
Saturday's Training Camp was a late one, and a there's a lot of news to talk about, so let's just jump straight in!
After having a veteran's day off yesterday, all of the vets were suited up for today's practice. On the injury front, Jalen Reagor was doing team drills for the first time of camp, but he started off with the second team offense. DeVonta Smith sat out of most of practice and will have his leg evaluated, but the assumption is that it is a minor tweak. JJ Arcega-Whiteside was also back in team drills today, but he got hurt after making a catch. The rest of the injury report stayed the same as yesterday.
Jordan Mailata was the full-time starter at the left tackle position, and Dillard got beat yet again by Josh Sweat allowing another sack. It seems as if the gap between Dillard and Mailata in the left tackle battle is widening.
Jalen Reagor beat Darius Slay in 1 on 1 drills, but Slay came back and had a pass breakup against Reagor, which got rookie DC Jonathan Gannon fired up.
On a pitch play, Sanders broke a run for 60 yards, and had nothing but green grass in front of him.
Ertz caught a 30-plus yarder on the right sideline, after smoking Elijah Riley on a double move. Dallas Goedert also said it's great to have Ertz back.
Running back Jason Huntley's speed has been impressive so far throughout camp, as he had a house call touchdowns on a carry late in camp.
Jalen Hurts threw just his second interception throughout all of camp today, after not having any the last two days. Hurts tried to fit it into a tight window, but linebacker TJ Edwards came away with it.
After a nice defensive play, Jonathan Gannon sprinted 30 yards out of excitement. Sirianni said that he has been impressed by Gannon's energy, and the defense has been very electric flying around the field.
After practice, Darius Slay stuck around to work with young cornerback Michael Jacquett to work on some stuff.
