After a nice little off day on Friday, the Eagles were back in pads today for practice. It is interesting that with 5 days to go until the Eagles first preseason game, they still have not brought tackling to the ground into their practices. We'll see what Nick Sirianni does leading up to August 12th against Pittsburgh.
Let's get to the Notes.
Before practice, the Eagles activated Alex Singleton off the COVID-19 list.
The injury list today has, well, gotten longer. Ryan Kerrigan was limited with a thumb injury, Michael Walker was limited with a foot injury, Grayland Arnold is day-to-day with a hamstring injury, Genard Avery is day-to-day with a groin injury, Shaun Bradley is day-to-day with an illness, Brandon Brooks is day-to-day with a hamstring injury, Jason Croom is day-to-day with a knee injury, Obi Melifonwu is day-to-day with a hamstring injury, John Hightower is now week-to-week with a groin injury, Isaac Seumalo is week-to-week with a hamstring injury, DeVonta Smith is week-to-week with a knee injury, JaCoby Stevens is week-to-week with a hamstring injury and Davion Taylor is week-to-week with a calf injury.
Today is Jalen Hurts' 23rd birthday!
Did I miss a LT Update last time? Ether way, Andre DIllard was the first team LT today.
Josh Sweat had two sacks in the first four plays in 11on11s. One of them was on Dillard.
Hurts beat zone coverage and found Zach Ertz for a nice 15-yard completion.
Hurts was picked off by Eric Wilson in a team rep. He rolled to the right on a broken play and made a really poor decision.
Adrian Killins burnt Avonte Maddox and Joe Flacco hit him in stride for a touchdown.
Alex Singleton nearly picked off Hurts.
The next play was a miscommunication to Jalen Reagor which ended up being a strange play. The Eagles offense probably had their worst day of training camp so far today.
Nick Mullens hit TE Jack Stoll over the middle for a 20 yard gain.
Anthony Harris had a PBU on a short throw by Hurts.
Flacco had a 15 yard pass to Andre Patton for a completion.
Hurts got a completion on a crosser to Travis Fulgham for 25 yards.
LaVert Hill had a pick 6 on a bad pass from Mullens that was intended for Jhamon Ausbon.
Player of the Day: Josh Sweat
On a day that was clearly a struggle for the offense, Sweat balled out. Getting two sacks in only 4 plays along with adding pressure on some plays that ended up being incompletions. A lot of people have been expecting a breakout from Sweat this year, and the signs in camp so far have been positive. Remember that he is entering a contract year.
