Game Preview: Sixers Debut New Uniforms, Court in Home Matchup vs. Bulls

Yeah, the game isn't what I'm interested in tonight for the Sixers. The most important part for me is the debut of Philly's outstanding city edition jerseys, which are based off of the Sixers former home, known as the Spectrum, or Americas Showplace. And wow did the design team cook up a good one. Here's Marc Zumoff if you needed any more convincing:

Oh yeah, the basketball team also plays a game against the Chicago Bulls, who are tied for the best record in the East after their comeback win against Boston to improve to 6-1. Philly themselves aren't far behind at 5-2, and get their superstar back as Joel Embiid returns at home after taking a game off to manage his knee injury.

Notable Injuries

For Chicago, sophomore forward Pat Williams and Coby White are both out for Wednesday night, and the Sixers are still missing Ben Simmons (personal), Tobias Harris (COVID) and Danny Green (hamstring), who exited last game early.

Players to Watch

Sixers: Tyrese Maxey - G

With both Seth Curry and Joel Embiid in the lineup, Maxey doesn't need to take 20 shots, but with Tobias Harris out someone needs to step up to replace his offensive production. The second year guard has been efficient over his last three outings, but the team could benefit from Tyrese being more aggressive while looking for his own shot.

Bulls: Demar DeRozan - F

DeRozan exploded for a 37 point outing last time out in Boston, and has scored 20 plus in his last 6 games. When DeRozan is in a rhythm he completes this Chicago team and ensures the defense will never get a rest as long as he or Zach Lavine (25.6 PPG) are on the floor.

This early season heavyweight battle tips off at 7:30 PM ET, and will be aired on NBC Sports Philadelphia.
