Phillies Mets series preview

Somehow, someway, the Phillies are still in this race. I don't know how, I don't know why, but the Phillies are three games back of the Braves for the National League East Division.

The Phillies will take on the Mets in a three-game series on the road. The Mets have had their struggles this season and so have the Phillies. In this series, we will see who will capitalize on the mistakes that the other team has.

The Phillies have momentum, however, after taking the series against the Cubs in wild fashion, to say the least.

The Mets on the other hand are coming off of a series in where they got swept by the Cardinals. The Phillies need to capitalize on this and take advantage of the Mets who are down bad at the current moment.

The Phillies will send out Wheeler today, 9/17, Nola tomorrow, 9/18, and Gibson on Saturday, 9/19. The Phillies need Aaron Nola to show up for these last starts because he has not been himself the past six starts. Nola has been downright awful and the Phillies need him to show up for these last couple of starts.

Bryce Harper continues to be a candidate for MVP as he has been crushing the ball as of late. He posted four runs batted in in yesterday's 17-8 victory over the Cubs. Harper has been huge and his bat is coming to life when the Phillies need it most.

The supporting cast for the Phillies needs to follow suit and get the bats going because it is crunch time now. The Phillies have four series left of baseball to try and win the NL East Division and make it to the playoffs for the first time since 2011.

In the famous words of Marc Zumoff, "Hang on Ala we are coming in for a landing" the Phillies have to hit the gas pedal and claim the NL East Division and it starts tonight with the Mets.
