Phillies sweep the Nationals!

The Philadelphia Phillies went into Washington just three and a half games back, looking for a series win. The Phillies this past series, looked like an actual baseball team.

The Phillies had everything rolling this weekend as they are only a half of a game back of first place in the National League East Division.

We are finally starting to see the best catcher in baseball J.T. Realmuto, Bryce Harper, and Rhys Hoskins all get hot at the same time.

The Bullpen looked really good this past series and the move to make Ranger Saurez a starter is looking like it will pay off. Obviously, you will need to give him time to build up stamina to go deeper in games but Ranger has answered the call. Also, Chase Anderson did well in his first start back into the rotation.

Matt Moore recently got moved to the bullpen and he had a fantastic appearance out of the bullpen. He went four innings and gave up zero runs in this Nationals sweep. As Jack Fritz put it, "We are seeing our very own Drew Pomeranz right before our eyes". That was via his Twitter.

The Phillies really came to life late in ball games and really didn't quit at all this series. We as tremendous effort in the last game with two big hits from Rhys Hoskins and The BCIB J.T. Realmuto.

This past series, the Phillies looked like a complete baseball team and will look to ride this Momentum wave back home: in what should be a rowdy Citizens Bank Park, against the Mets.

Rhys Hoskins stated, "I can not wait to see what Citizens Bank Park will be like when we play a meaningful series against the Mets".

The defense on this team was incredible this series, minus the Torreyes drop, Didi had an outstanding play in the last game of the series when he gunned down a runner at second base after Ronald Torreyes dived to stop the ball and flipped it to second. The runner was called safe and DIdi just twirled and fired a strike to home. It was an awesome play to watch.

Also, Jean Segura has been playing some great baseball of late and the same can be said for Alec Bohm and Travis Jankowski. This Phillies team is finally starting to play a complete game of baseball and it has really shown this past series.

Finally, the long ball and great hitting are what got the Phillies rolling in this series. We saw some fantastic at-bats from everyone in this lineup.

Also, Bryce Harper hit his 250th career home run in this series as well. The Phillies are getting hot and you don't want to let this team get hot.

Bryce Harper put it best in the last game of the Pirate series. He said quote "We just have to have fun and play the game of baseball... we need to shut out the noise and just play baseball and have fun"

The Mets come to town this weekend to a what should be packed citizens bank park. This series will be a pivotal one in the race for first place in the National League East Division.
