The Philadelphia Phillies will travel to the desert to take on one of the worst teams in major league baseball, the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Phillies will send newly acquired Kyle Gibson out on Tuesday, Gibson has been superb for the Phillies since his acquisition, then we will see Ranger Saurez on Wednesday, Suarez has been one of the best Phillies pitchers all year, and Zack Wheeler on Thursday.
Don't sleep on this Diamondbacks team as they took some games from the Padres in their past series.
Tyler Gilbert will face the Phillies, in his first start, he threw a no-hitter, Gilbert was a 2015 draft pick for the Phillies and was traded in the Kyler Garlick trade.
The Diamondbacks still have yet to name starters for the series.
Rhys Hoskins may make an appearance in this series as he has been dealing with a groin injury.
The Phillies need to go on another win streak as they will face some pretty easy competition over the next week. Yes, the Padres are a beatable team. The Phillies are currently a game back in the National League East Division race.
The Phillies will play seven games against the Diamondbacks. They need to win at least five if not six games against them.
The Phillies are still battling injuries as well with Hoskins, Alvarado, Galvis, Eflin, and Coonrod are all on the IL. with some of them scheduled to come back soon, the Phillies need to make a push with these players making their way back.
All and all these next couple of series will tell if the Phillies want to win the division.
