The 76ers dominate the Brooklyn Nets in tonight's matchup

The shorthanded 76ers faced off against the Brooklyn Nets without Kyrie Irving, and it was a fun game to watch. It’s only the third preseason game, but the Sixers look like they are in mid-season form in an absolutely dominating game by the 76ers, and their energy driven bench with a win of 115-104.

The injury report was stacked tonight with Seth Curry (rest), Tobias Harris (right knee soreness), Shake Milton (right ankle sprain), Grant Riller (right knee surgery), Ben Simmons (not with team), and Matisse Thybulle (right shoulder soreness) all out of the lineup tonight.

We got a hint of what we’re going to see all season from Joel Embiid tonight with him only playing 8 minutes in the first quarter. Embiid dominated the floor with 14 points, shooting 6-8 while also draining one three.

The big game changer of tonight was Furkan Korkmaz, Isaiah Joe, and the Sixers bench. Korkmaz got his first start at point guard since his days in Turkey. Korkmaz ended the night with a shocking 27 points shooting 11-19 from the field while also splashing 4 three pointers. This is exactly what we need from Korkmaz this season as he just signed a contract extension with the 76ers in the offseason.

Isaiah Joe continued to show tonight why he deserved a spot in the rotation with 20 points, shooting 6-7 with 5 threes. Isaiah Joe has potential to be one of the league's highest volume three point shooters and has been doing that throughout the past 3 preseason games.

Andre Drummond had another very solid game off the bench. It is going to be great to see someone like Drummond back Embiid up all year. My opinion is that Drummond will be the best backup center Joel Embiid has ever played with.

The real energy came off the bench tonight with players like Andre Drummond, Paul Reed, Aaron Henry, and Shaq Harrison all seemed to have been giving it their all tonight. The Brooklyn Nets looked sluggish out there, struggling to score on the offensive end especially in the third quarter.

The Sixers 1st round pick, Jaden Springer continues to struggle with his shot and is having trouble finding his way around this offense. Tonight, he shot 1-6 with 2 points while also having a +/- of -17 which was by far the worst on the team.

Shaq Harrison was a player that I enjoyed watching tonight as he brought the energy and determination to win tonight. Harrison played 28 minutes, tying the second most tonight. He secured 5 steals, 1 block, and 9 points shooting 4-9 from the field.

Paul Reed is another guy that brought fantastic energy onto the floor tonight. Reed’s improvement this season has shown and he is working to get a spot in the rotation. Tonight he snatched 10 boards, while putting up 9 points, 1 block, and 1 steal. I am very excited to see what Paul Reed brings to the table this year.

For the Brooklyn Nets, Kevin Durant and James Harden were their leading scorers combining for 44 points. It’s surprising to see superstars playing this many minutes in a preseason game as Durant played 26 minutes and Harden played 28 minutes.

The Philadelphia 76ers final preseason game will be played Friday, October 15th at 7:00 PM EST. The Sixers will be traveling to Detroit for a matchup against the Pistons bright young core.
